ENZO: This is Enzo F. Cesario with another edition of the Brandsplat video report. Ben!

BEN: Yes, sir.

ENZO: What would E.T. have done if he could use Google phone?

BEN: I think we all know the answer to that one.

ENZO: What?

BEN: He would have phoned home.

ENZO: Right. For free. Check this out. Look at what Google's doing. This is a brilliant little marketing ploy. It's an old idea – it's basically just a product demo -- but they're doing it in a fresh way. Check this out. See these little kiosks? These are kind of old style English phone booths that they're plopping up around where you can actually go in and check out the sound quality of Google Voice for yourself – make some phone calls. Brilliant. Really smart. Obviously you've got to get permission to put these things up, and it probably costs a little bit of money, but keep in mind these kind of guerrilla ideas to get your point across. Here's a way NOT to do a guerrilla idea. This is coming out of San Francisco, I think, and it's coming from the company that makes Mafia Wars. They glued a bunch of fake money onto the sidewalk...

BEN: A little vandalism there.

ENZO: Yeah. Kind of. And I don't think they got permission, and I think the city is trying to charge them for some clean up. Not such a good idea.

BEN: Well, that's one way to stay in the paper.

ENZO: That's right. One way to stay in the paper. This is kind of graffiti. I think you could do it, but don't put your logo on it, and don't let people know who you are. Isn't that what graffiti is all about? Kind of being a rebel? And then finally I want to talk a little bit about this campaign that's just launched for Red Vines. I likeee the Red Vines. Ben, what about you? Do you eat that stuff?

BEN: I'm a Twizzler guy.

ENZO: They don't have Twizzlers out here. I think that's an East Coast thing.

BEN: Is that bad?

ENZO: For me it is. Anyway, what they're trying to do is, they're trying to cover the earth in Red Vines – Virtually, of course. They're using this kind of Google Map thing where you can go in and post a comment, and every comment is worth the length of a Red Vine.

BEN: How far are they?

ENZO: I don't know how much distance each one takes. But that would be a mathematical question.

BEN: But they're still in California, right?

ENZO: By this time – by the time we air this – they could be in Arizona. I have no idea. But it's an interesting tool, an interesting way to sell candy – interactive and kind of fun. Anyway, that's all I have for you. I wish I could give you some Red Vines, but I can't today...

BEN: Twizzlers...

ENZO: Twizzlers. All right. This is Enzo F. Cesario. See you next time.
