more Video Reports

Hi. This is Enzo F. Cesario with another edition of the Brandsplat Video Report. I'm here today with Ben who's behind the camera. Hiya Ben.

BEN: Hello.

ENZO: I want to talk to you today about Twitter and their location-based service thing that you can opt into. Did you? I didn't. I don't want people to know where I am all the time. I think that's nice that you can opt in and out. Also I use a third party application when I want to interact with people on a GPS basis. You can go to MyTown, FourSquare, Gowalla, all of those sorts of places to do that. I want to know what took Twitter so long. Come on, location is... real time is… the mathematics… am I making sense? Anyway, that's enough of that. They did roll it out in a nice way I thought, but what took ya? I also want to talk about where you go for entertainment. Like if a movie is coming out, or an album, you usually go to Google and you type in I want to see Twilight, the third movie and you're going to invariably see YouTube pop, maybe once, maybe twice, sometimes three times. YouTube's in the game heavy for entertainment and I think they do a good job covering it. I personally like trailers.apple.com. The trailers just look great in HD on my laptop. Any way, they're in the game and they're pretty imbedded. It'll be interesting to see what they're going to do. So if you've got a product that's entertainment-based, you might want to use YouTube. Speaking of entertainment, Lady GaGa came out with her new and the video was really out there. Beautifully shot and it was kind of a cool story but what's even more interesting was the product placement. It was chock full. And I know people talk about her previous videos, about how she's just working that product placement angle. I think it's interesting that she is using a bunch of different products and she's weaving that into the story. Is this where advertising is going? Are we moving ahead, Ben?

BEN: We're already there.

ENZO: Are we? I think we're maybe staying behind. I don't want Virgin selling me a phone in my Lady GaGa. That sounded bad. Anyway, that's it for me today. Thanks for joining. See you next time.
