ENZO: This is Enzo F. Cesario with another edition of the Brandsplat Video report. Hey Ben!
BEN: How are you doing?
ENZO: Good how are you?
BEN: It's a little chilly.
ENZO: Windy and chilly. It's been windy here. So then let's say that you have a vertical blog site like law, for example. Where do you go to find other blogs just to see what they're doing?
BEN: You mean to steal good ideas?
ENZO: Of course. That's the best form of flattery or whatever. What did Mark Twain say?
BEN: Imitation.
ENZO: Imitation.
BEN: I don't know if he said it.
ENZO: You go to a place like ABA Journal. They have a directory of blogs. And also every year they hold a competition to see what the better legal blogs. If you go to ABA Journal.com/ BLAWG100, they have a list of 100 blogs that they're rating. If you don't find your blog up there and you have a law practice or a legal blog, you may want to contact them so that you get on the list too. So that's another technique so that you're on the radar. Right Ben?
BEN: That's a damn good idea.
ENZO: That's a great idea. Now to something a little more fun. Walmart doesn't always do great advertising but…
BEN: Sometimes they lack a certain sense of humor.
ENZO: Yeah. At this time they're going all out with a little thing the Martin Agency created for them, which is Frank the fruitcake dot com.
BEN: Frank the fruitcake? Is that a cousin of Sid the cupcake?
ENZO: That's for Valentine's Day isn't it
BEN: Yes, it's coming up
ENZO: Yes, Walmart's going to do that for Valentine's Day. But with Frank the fruitcake you can send a friend a digital fruitcake. I don't know why you would.
BEN: It's better than a real fruitcake.
ENZO: Because it won't go bad.
BEN: And you can re-gift it.
ENZO: There you go. You can post it on your wall. You can send it to a friend. It's their attempt at doing some digital marketing that's kind of quirky. And speaking of quirky let's go to there's a guy on Twitter. I don't know if it's a guy or girl. EveryTweet_ever. He does categories of tweets. Tweets you've heard before. For example you've seen people do a quote but it's not really that quote the person said. Like this one "Something I totally didn't say" Martin Luther King.
BEN: So it's every tweet that's ever been done in some generic form.
ENZO: In some kind of generic form. And he's categorized them.
BEN: So if you read this site you basically don't need to go on Twitter.
ENZO: you don't need to go on Twitter. Which I'm sure the people at Twitter love. This is Enzo F. Cesario. See you next time.
