more Video Reports

ENZO: This is Enzo F. Cesario with another edition of the Brandsplat video report. What's happening this week? I want to talk a little bit about one of the clients I used to work for a long time ago: AirWalk. They came out with this interesting thing that they did in New York and San Francisco where you use this app and you can see the world that you're looking at and you would find shoes – these special edition shoes, called the gym series that are made in a limited number. And if you find the picture, you get a code. Take a look at these shots here and they'll help you understand what I'm talking about. (He shows screen shots.) You get a little code and you can have access to these pairs of shoes. Pretty nifty. Pretty neat. Maybe everything's going to be virtual some day.

BEN: So what do you do? Win digital shoes?

ENZO: No. Real shoes. Real shoes. You know what? When I used to work with them, they always wanted the shoe bigger on the ends, well now they're friggin' the size of... they fit underneath an archway. Good for them. You did it! Congratulations. You finally did it. They made it bigger than ever. What else did I want to talk about? Oh, this is kind of interesting. If you're into Google.

BEN: Who isn't?

ENZO: And you're a coder and you like to mess with stuff, Matt Cutts is offering $2000 in cash money prizes to basically write the coolest open source app, demo or program using the Kinect. Kind of opening it up for people to mess around with – to tinker around with. You know, I have students in some of my classes that want to work at Google. This is your chance. You know who you are... Kevin! (He and Ben laugh) The last thing I want to talk about is Freya, my good pal.

BEN: We like Freya.

ENZO: We like Freya. I know her very well. Very well.

BEN: How well do you know her?

ENZO: Oh, very well. She's a mom who drives a Volvo. And she wasn't very happy with the way she was treated at a local Volvo dealer and took her message online. Told her story and got lots and lots of people behind her to back her up, and the result was: she got her car fixed. And she got treated well. Kudos to Volvo for doing that. Check out this one video right here. It got like 20,000 hits I think so after it was posted online. Take a little gander. (He shows YouTube clip Freya Svensson "O Rusnak Volvo" - a Swedish Folklore) Ya.

BEN: Brilliant camera work. Who did that?

ENZO: Viking power. Yeah, who did that camera work? Enzo F. Cesario. See you next time
