ENZO: This is Enzo F. Cesario with another edition of the Brandsplat Video report. Ben!

BEN: How are you?

ENZO: Good, how's your summer?

BEN: It's been fast.

ENZO: It has been fast.

BEN: And hot.

ENZO: Yes, 103 here. Let's talk a little bit about content and what does that mean, interesting content, you hear about it all the time and what does that mean. People think it means getting on the Twitter or on the Facebook and chatting with their friends or chatting with other people or re-tweeting interesting articles. That ain't enough, that's not it.

BEN: That's not real content.

ENZO: That's not real content. That's regurgitation of content. You need original content. And the best way to create original content is through a blog right, Ben?

BEN: That's what they tell me.

ENZO: That's what they tell me too. The blog should be your hub, your centerpiece and then you go out and you talk about maybe your article or your blog entry.

BEN: Or insult someone.

ENZO: Or insult someone. Or tell somebody where you are. Hey, I'm having dinner at Sizzler right now. But I saw this interesting quote here today - Engaging in the conversation doesn't work. Publishing interesting content does." Hear, hear! You've got to think like a publisher. Interesting content published, do it often and do it well. Right, Ben?

BEN: Yes, relevant.

ENZO: Yes, relevant content to your brand and to your market. All right, enough about that. Now I want to talk about optimization for video.

BEN: I was waiting for that.

ENZO: Ah, so juicy. Some people think this is boring, but it's not. You need to have transcripts with your video. Because the web is built on hypertext and it's textually based. Even though Google probably has some robot that understands you and can transcribe what's in your video…

BEN: And your mind.

ENZO: And your mind. Maybe Bing doesn't. Maybe Yahoo doesn't. So it's a good thing to have everything in a text-based format. Transcribe what you're saying in your video. Another reason for this is viewers that are watching the video can easily glance down at your transcription and decide whether or not they want to actually spend the whole two minutes you've put together for them. So, for example, look at this, SEOMOZ, we're big fans of them, they always do a transcription and it's great. Especially for me, I do like to read the transcription before I start it. They're always interesting. And sometimes I go back and I refer to the text after I've watched the video if I want to brush up o something. So, do that with your videos. Last but not least, I want to do something a little bit fun. I found this on the web at MediaPost, and they're talking about how Facebook got angry at Lamebook.

BEN: I hate it when Facebook gets angry.

ENZO: And they're trying to do a cease and desist because people might get confused between Lamebook and Facebook. I agree. I think they're starting to blur, the lines are starting to blur there, look at the difference in design.

BEN: I much prefer Lamebook.

ENZO: I know, me too. I'm going to migrate. But the funny thing is after that they went after something called Teachbook. This is a site for teachers and looks nothing like Facebook.

BEN: Well, yea, teachers are bad people.

ENZO: Especially on the Interwebs. Anyway, funny when you gain a lot of popularity anw weight on the web you can throw it around.

BEN: That's what we want to do.

ENZO: Yeah, we're going to start to go after Grandsplat. This is Enzo F. Cesario - see ya next time.
