ENZO: This is Enzo F. Cesario with another edition of the Brandsplat video report. Ben...
BEN: How you doin'?
ENZO: I'm doing great. Check out this article this week. This is from eMarketer. Check out the trends of US companies using blogs for marketing purposes. Right now we're at 34 percent. I actually kind of thought that was a bit low but...
BEN: It will vary in the industry.
ENZO: But look how it's growing year over year. It's growing and growing and growing. Also there's another little chart at the bottom that talks about what research tools journalists who are writing stories or PR people use to find information about companies and a company blog is right below a news wire. That's fantastic. And that's going to grow too. So if you don't have a company blog you should get one. And if you're too lazy, or you can't afford to do it yourself or you don't know how... that's where we come in. Right?
BEN: That was very subtle. I like that.
ENZO: It's called a soft sell, Ben. Let's see, what else are we going to talk about? Oh, this is interesting. Ben, do you remember the decoder ring?
BEN: I loved those. Those were great.
ENZO: Yeah it's an old idea, made new again by none other than Jay Z who actually with the help of Droga5 which is kind of an ad agency in NYC. They did this really cool thing. He's coming out with a book. But instead of just promoting it in the New York Times Book Section, he's actually doing kind of a hunt for pages of his books. But not just any pages, there are like big posters on walls; he's hiding them around the cities; and things like that. And you can either look for these pages on foot or if you don't live in the area, for example, if you're not in New York City or Brooklyn and that's where one of the pages is, you can go on Bing and check it out. It all comes to you via Bing.decodeJayZ.com. A word of warning though if you're on a Mac especially, you have to download Silverlight. So that's kind of a bummer.
BEN: Scavenger hunt.
ENZO: It's a scavenger hunt. I was reaching for that word. Thanks, Ben. You're so good. Okay so onto the next story. This is huge news. This is probably why I'll dump Facebook soon. Because I don't have as many followers as this little fluffy guy. Check this out. 74,000 followers. For this cute little dog, Boo. Boo is cute. I can't get enough of him. I think I spent an hour looking at Boo. What do you think of Boo, Ben?
BEN: Is he real?
ENZO: He's real. And he's real cute. So that's it for this week. Enzo F. Cesario. See you next time.
