more Video Reports

ENZO: This is Enzo F. Cesario with another edition of the Brandsplat video report. Ben.

BEN: How ya doin'?

ENZO: I'm doing great.

BEN: You like my beard?

ENZO: I like it a lot. I think the viewers like it too.

BEN: I hope so.

ENZO: We're getting lots of positive feedback. I want to talk a little bit this week about these funny commercials that are coming to you from DirecTV. Let's show a little bit of a clip here. (He shows the YouTube clip “Opulence, I has it.”) Okay. We've all seen funny commercials, right? But this is like there's a commercial within this commercial. Did you notice the little giraffe in there, Ben.

BEN: The little teenie-eenie-weenie giraffe?

ENZO: Yeah. That was cute, right? There's a whole site dedicated to that little giraffe. And there's a whole property you can go to. Obviously it's by the people from DirecTV, but they did a good job. It's funny. If you go to petitelapgiraffe.com you can see the breeders of this fine little animal, and you can actually get on the waiting list for one. I think I'm on the waiting list. I'm supposed to get one in 3012 or something like that. (They laugh.)

BEN: It's a great way to get some addresses.

ENZO: It is a great way. And look at the live giraffe-cam. It's lovely. You know, coming to you from Russia's finest purveyors of petite lap giraffes. Beautiful stuff. I want to talk a little bit about color – color.com. If you don't know what color is, it's a new app that involves photography, video and social media. I'm getting sick of social media. When's it gonna go away?

BEN: When are we getting antisocial media?

ENZO: It's a fad. It should stop. Anyway, forty one million dollars in backing and funding, and I went on the site just to look at reviews 'cause I was considering downloading it and I went through and I was like, I don't know about this. Some of the reviews aren't so good. Here's one: “Confusing. Poor UI. Crashes. $41m for this?”

BEN: And they put it on their website, huh?

ENZO: Yeah, they did. “Back button doesn't work.. Can see how this COULD be useful in certain situations...” Yeah. So I didn't download it. We'll see what happens. We're gonna follow color.com in the future and see where they go. Also in the news – I'm sure you've already seen Rebecca Black's video. If you haven't, here's just a tiny little clip. (He shows YouTube clip, “Rebecca Black - Friday (OFFICIAL VIDEO)” ) Sunday comes after Saturday?

BEN: Eh. The lyrics are a little soft.

ENZO: The lyrics are soft. Anyway, Lady Gaga called this young lady a genius. And she must be doing something right, she's got fifty three million hits, but Sunday comes after Saturday, really?

BEN: Hey, she's a kid. Back off, guy. Back off.

ENZO: Even though she's a kid, she's got somebody backing her up, the Ark Music Factory. They're a social media and music label. Go check them out at arkmusicfactory.com, and you can read more about Rebecca Black, who is probably running in the black right now.

BEN: Yes. I would think so.

ENZO: Oh Yeah.

BEN: Yeah.

ENZO: After fifty three million hits, she's probably selling those songs like hot cakes. So, anyway, that's it for me. Enzo F. Cesario. See ya next time.
