ENZO: This is Enzo F Cesario with another edition of the Brandsplat video report. Ben, how are you doing?

BEN: Good. How are you?

ENZO: Good. Happy New Year!

BEN: Happy New Year!

ENZO: Speaking of the New Year we're going to talk to little bit about our predictions about what's going to trend in 2012.

BEN: These are your predictions.

ENZO: These are mine. So just my opinion.

BEN: I love the predictions. But they're not tape-able.

ENZO: Following some trends, we have a lot of legal clients and I was just looking at an article from the Wall Street Journal and there was this little factoid in here about how lawyers are using social media specifically Facebook less and less. According to them at only 29% used Facebook. And maybe that's because Facebook is not really right for businesses. It might be right for people but not businesses. I predict there's going to be a trend moving away from Facebook even on a personal level.

BEN: Burnout?

ENZO: Yeah burnout and plus there are other shiny objects like take for instance Pinterest. Pinterest is a really cool platform where you can share pictures. Think of it as a think of it as a huge corkboard. When you're visiting a site and you like a picture you can pin that picture on your board. You can categorize stuff. You can see the potential of that right Ben?

BEN: then I can see the potential for getting in a lot of trouble but yeah.

ENZO: What, shopping-wise?

BEN: Or just generally what you put up on the board.

ENZO: Yeah. I think they probably monitor that sort of thing. The next trend I see I think we're going to see more and more sites designed specifically for the tablet or to look like they're designed for the tablet. There are a couple of companies right now, one is Onswipe. Onswipe is actually helps you convert your website or blog, they have a word press product plug-in that helps you do that so you don’t' have to recode your entire site.

BEN: So then this is so you can navigate with a touch and swipe?

ENZO: Yes and also to make it look prettier. You know look more interactive. So I predict there's going to be and move towards designs of websites and blogs to move more into that direction to accommodate for tablets. Third prediction. I think there's going to be another move away from digital media specifically for marketing specifically for local targeting. If you're targeting some local people for example this is a good example this is something IKEA did, a little campaign they did in Australia. Have a look see. (Shows video of campaign) They were just using their packaging to advertise to their people. The cost was nothing. There's no analytics to deal with. And it seemed to be a pretty successful campaign. So a slight move away from marketing online for companies especially companies that can't afford to have an Analytics Department. It makes sense that you go and do some more human forms of marketing rather than cold digital analytical marketing.

BEN: Human marketing.

ENZO: Human marketing - it's going to be a new term in 2012. You heard it here first. This is Enzo F. Cesario - see you next year.
