ENZO: This is Enzo F. Cesario with another edition of the Brandsplat video report. Ben!

BEN: Yes, sir.

ENZO: Welcome back.

BEN: Thank you. I had a good vacation.

ENZO: Good. Hey, Ben, you like couponing, don't you?

BEN: I love couponing.

ENZO: Who doesn't? Couponing – people who cut coupons are in for a treat this week. Companies like Walgreens, J.C. Penney's, Staples, TrueValue on Facebook are using something called Shop Local. Where Facebook users will be getting virtual circulars – those things you see in your newspapers where you have coupons and stuff like that.

BEN: FSI?

ENZO: Free Standing Inserts. Yeah. They're going to be serving them up to you though in a way that's relevant to what's in your profile. So you know, if you're located in a specific town, it'll give you a coupon good for that specific geographic area. Pretty nifty way to target. Pretty strong stuff. They're probably paving the way for the rest of the world to use something like that if it works. So us little guys, we could do a coupon for what? Splats.

BEN: Free splats.

ENZO: Free splats. Also want to turn your attention to this little video. I don't know if you've seen it. A lot of people have seen it. Take a look. (He shows the “Guy Walks Across America” YouTube video.) Here's a video – a really interesting video – that's shot on a Canon 5D Mark 2. I actually used one of those cameras. It looks like a regular 35 mm camera, but it's like a really good quality movie camera. This was done without any branding on it, and no mention of a brand that was behind it. And when people found out it was Levi's, some people were up at arms, and some people really liked it, and they were like, oh, Levi's is cool. The video is about this guy who goes from New York to San Francisco, and walks across America. There's even a map where you can follow his way. I think it's pretty cool. I don't want it to be an ad. It's going back to the days of Mutual of Omaha. Do you remember those days, Ben?

BEN: I loved that show.

ENZO: Oh yeah. I want to see lions and tigers eat each other.

BEN: Marlin Perkins.

ENZO: Wow. You really are taking me back. Now I want to talk about Reputation Management. This week we got an email from the PR department at Cold Stone Creamery. We had reported that if you signed up for their Facebook page you could get free stuff – not really free ice cream. Actually, you can buy someone a coupon for between five and seven dollars, and you can send it to a friend, so that they can go into a local Cold Stone and they can redeem it. So it's not really free.

BEN: It's free if you get it.

ENZO: Yeah. It's free if you get it. Send me one, Ben. I love ice cream. Anyway, great example – I think Cold Stone is doing a really good job on its reputation management. They found me right away and they pointed the finger, and they said you weren't really correct. And I actually appreciate that. And they sent it to me in an email, with a way to contact them. So, really good job. Reputation Management is key online to get your brand straight, even when people like me don't. Anyway, that's it for me this week. Thanks, everybody. See you next time, guys.
