ENZO: This is Enzo F Cesario with another edition of the Brandsplat video report. How're you doing, Ben?

BEN: I'm doing well. How're you?

ENZO: Good. What's the big event that just happened in L.A. that everyone is talking about?

BEN: Uh… E3?

ENZO: Yeah… No. The Lakers, man.

BEN: Oh.

ENZO: You didn't watch that?

BEN: Unfortunately, I did.

ENZO: Oh, man, that was a great game. Oh… You're a Boston fan?!

BEN: Celts fan.

ENZO: (laughs maniacally) Anyway, I went to E3. It was great. I wanted to share with you a couple of interesting things. If you're going to trade shows -- and a lot of companies don't even think about this -- advertising at trade shows is a good way to go, because you've got a captured audience and they're targeted. I want to show you a couple of interesting displays. Here's one from Atari. (shows photo of ad with a sports car and a woman in a bathing suit) Look at that. Hubba hubba. That's for Test Drive Unlimited 2. You know they're targeting the male demographic, and I've got to say that the male-geek to female-geek ratio at the show was 90% male, I'd say… even more.

BEN: Do you think that would appeal to the males?

ENZO: Yeah… Check out this too. This was in the Tron booth. Look at that. That was the actual bike used in the movie. That was really cool. I stared at that for a while. I wanted to touch it and ride it myself. Anyway, pretty cool E3 Expo. If you're going to a trade show, think about advertising at the trade show or having some sort of display. It's a great idea. So, next story… I wanted to move to -- by the way, I think we talked about bros icing bros last week. Guess what, Ben?

BEN: What?

ENZO: They shut it down.

BEN: Smirnoff shut it down?

ENZO: It looks like they shut it down. I mean it's like, why would you do that? I thought it was such a great, fun idea. Anyway, it's kind of known as brandjacking when you take a brand over, and your average joe or average people take it over. Another form of brandjacking appeared at the World Cup, and actually this was at a game between Holland and Denmark, and it was thirty-six women dressed in orange for Bavaria Beer. And they actually got in trouble for that because they were advertising without having to pay for it. But little stunts like this, I think, can get a lot of attention. And I'm sure Bavaria Beer got -- have you ever heard of Bavaria Beer?

BEN: I've consumed it on a few occasions.

ENZO: Oh, you have. Do you like it?

BEN: Yeah

ENZO: Let's have one.

BEN: Right now.

ENZO: All right. Finally, I want to talk a little bit about domain names. Here's an interesting little article where they talk about a company spending five and a half million dollars for a domain name. Why would you do that, Ben?

BEN: SEO. Branding.

ENZO: SEO, branding. You know if someone is spending that kind of money you can expect -- and so the article says as well -- that they're going to be looking for a return on their investment. Whether that's easy branding or SEO or what have you. How much did we pay for ours?

BEN: Eight dollars.

ENZO: Eight million dollars.

BEN: No. Just eight dollars. So what sold for the big money?

ENZO: I think it was slots.com. Slots.com.

BEN: Five letters. Not bad.

ENZO: Not bad. Five point five. I also want to talk about our promo. Sign up. Get some whiskey and smokes. Do it now.

BEN: Where do we sign up?

ENZO: Facebook.com/brandsplat. This is Enzo F Cesario, see you next time.
