ENZO: Hi. This is Enzo F. Cesario. ROAR!! How's it going, Ben?
BEN: It's going well.
ENZO: Good. How're you doing?
BEN: You look good.
ENZO: I feel good.
BEN: It's your look.
ENZO: I feel good, Ben. What else is "feel good" out there on the web?
BEN: Nice segway.
ENZO: That was a terrible segway. When you want to take a look at marketing that's being done really well, always go to entertainment. Oh, man, the people in entertainment always spice it up just right. It's a spicy meatball. Check out what they're doing for the MacGruber movie that's coming out. First of all, they've leaked some naked photos of MacGruber on wwtdd.com. You may want to cover your eyes for this one (shows photo), man! What is that called? That's an actual condition… it's called weenus cocktailus.
BEN: You mean teenus weenus?
ENZO: Cocktail weenie syndrome or something. That's terrible. Look at that. Poor MacGruber. I'll see his movie though. I mean, why not? But who knew? You don't know… you see someone walking around… That's a terrible condition. But now the word's out. All right. What else is going on? MacGruber is also doing something really funny… I think this is the people from the movie. I'm not sure. I can't say for 100%, but check out this. It's called shrekexposed.com, and basically it's a site saying that Shrek ain't the guy you think he is.
I searched around trying to find out who was responsible for this, and I went onto page two and obviously it looks like the MacGruber people might have something to do with it, because it says "We are… in NO WAY affiliated with the MacGruber movie," which I think is funny. And then later on they say, "Actually heard the MacGruber movie is pretty f-ing hilarious but whatever." (He and Ben laugh) That's awesome. Doing a negative, fake site to your competition in a tongue-in-cheek, playful manner, that's a smart move, man. Let's do one, Ben.
BEN: Consider it done.
ENZO: Let's do a fake MacGruber site. You said to do it. What else is happening this week? The Google IO, the developers' conference happened and I don't know how many people watched it. I watched it. I thought it was very interesting. But again, Apple gets slammed by Google when they're talking about Flash, and how Google wants to be an open environment. Check out this little clip. (He plays a clip that says, "We're committed to having the world's most comprehensive browser. It turns out that on the Internet, people use Flash.
And part of being open means you're inclusive, rather than exclusive, and you're open to innovation.") Adobe Flash has not been dismissed. It's not been dismissed. It's still in the running. And it looks like Google is supporting that because they're doing more of an open platform. You might want to check out -- if you're doing apps on the iPhone -- you might want to check out the Android phone. There are over 50,000 apps on there right now. They have over 100,000 daily activations, which is pretty insane. So the Android market is not one to be ignored. So check that out.
The last thing I want to talk about is, and this is just to show that when you have a really tiny budget and you want to market something, check out what Nike did recently. (He shows a Nike soccer clip -- youtube.com/nikefootball.) I did a funny. They did have a big budget, and they had all the best athletes in soccer. Amazing. Amazing. It's going viral as we speak. I'm sure it's going to go around the world six or seven times, or twelve times, as Ben would say. An amazing viral piece. If you've got a small business, you're screwed if you're going up against Nike, that's all I've got to say. (He and Ben laugh.) Anyway, this is Enzo F Cesario, thanks for joining, see you next time.
