Hi. This is Enzo F. Cesario with another edition of the Brandsplat Video Report. Today we’re talking to Petra Wennberg who is a strategic visual designer. Petra just recently did a mini-campaign where she created some content on the Web. Do you want to talk to us a little bit about that Petra?
PETRA: Sure. I had some issues with my car and with the manufacturer and the dealer didn't want to do anything about it. So, I decided to create an alter ego called Freya Svennson and started a blog called RusmackedVolvo.com and started using a social networking campaign tools to try to get the word out and to try to get their attention.
ENZO: So in effect what you did was to create a mini Brandsplat campaign or what we call Brandcasting. Do you want to explain exactly what you did? What were some of the elements you used? What kind of content did you create?
PETRA: Well I started with the blog being the hub and then I started feeding friends and contacts into that blog through Facebook. I also used Twitter and started tweeting about my news and blog posts and I created YouTube videos that would get attention and create smiles and get people curious.
ENZO: Your video got 30,000 hits, is that correct?
PETRA: Yes, I got 30,00 hits and I got picked up by a couple of auto blogs, which I thought was kind of cool. It really got some attention. And right after that, that's when the manufacturer called me and asked for me as my alter ego, which I thought was pretty funny. And they decided to commit to fixing the problems with my car.
ENZO: See, online branding, it really works if you do it right. If you have a multi-tiered campaign like you did - it's very powerful stuff. I'd like to thank you for coming today Petra, and for commenting and sharing your story. I have one other question - you know your Viking helmet, I know you wear that as Freya. Do you ever wear it on the side as Petra?
PETRA: All the time.
ENZO: All right. Thanks Freya, or Petra. I don’t know which one to call you. This is Enzo F. Cesario with the Brandsplat Video Report. We'll see you next time.
