Hi. This is Enzo F. Cesario with another edition of the Brandsplat Video Report. I'm here with Ed McMahon.
BEN: Good evening, sir.
ENZO: Good evening, Ben. How're you doing?
BEN: Well. How're you?
ENZO: A little tired. We just got back from San Francisco. We did the Ad Tech Convention. It was an awesome, awesome meet-up of technology and advertising professionals. Cool. But you know what I found there? Check this out. (He holds up a cell phone.) This is the new iPhone. 4G. Look at it. Isn't it cool?
BEN: Isn't that a droid?
ENZO: It's a droid. (laughing) But Gizmodo apparently found one. It smelled a little fishy. C'mon. Someone just left it… Really? It sounds like they know little bit too much about it, and they're taking it apart, and it's almost like they're working for Apple. I think if I had a company and I were gonna launch a product, I'd do the same thing. Either way, it's brilliant. If it was planted with Gizmodo, it's brilliant because they're getting so much attention. If it wasn't planted and some guy just left it, because he was derelict in his duties or just had too many drinks, I think it's brilliant too because it's getting so much buzz. Anyway, something to think about for your next product launch. Think about it.
Also, I want to talk a little bit about business. Ben, what do you do in business, when you've got a really great product but someone comes out with something new and they just blow you out of the water? What do you do?
BEN: Uh, cry?
ENZO: No. You one-up them.
BEN: Of course.
ENZO: Check this out. Everybody is talking about the KFC Double Down. Well, guess what? Krispy Kreme has a Double Down now too. It's a Krispy Kreme donut sliced in half with two pieces of chicken, cheese, bacon and oh yeah… look at that… it's delicious. One upsmanship. Remember that in business… the next time you're in business.
Okay, I also want to talk about this latest Crocs' effort: a commercial that I saw recently. I'm gonna play it for you here. (He plays the commercial where a pair of Crocs are seen massaging a woman's feet after she comes home from work.) All right. A little bit freaky. I thought Crocs were freaky in the first place. Now I think they're very freaky. I like the woman's feet though in that commercial. Not bad.
BEN: Don't show your children.
ENZO: Don't show your children that ad. They'll never wear Crocs. Actually though, check out they're push here. This is their home page (shows the Crocs website). Look at that. You'll notice that the Crocs are wearing Crocs. That's a first. But they do a good job. They're going across the board. On their Facebook page they're consistent and also on their website and in their commercial. Kudos to them. They've really got all their assets together and in the same line for their push of the Croslite.
Anyway, this is Enzo F. Cesario. See you next time.
