ENZO: This is Enzo F Cesario with another edition of the Brandsplat video report. How're you doing, Ben?
BEN: I'm doing well. How're you?
ENZO: I'm doing great. This week the iAd platform is going to be rolled out, apparently. I've only seen this video. Check this out. This is coming at you from the Nissan Leaf, and I believe that Nissan and their ad agency, Chiat-Day put this together. Check this out. (He shows the ad.) Great advertising platform, right on your phone or your iPad -- I mean you could live inside a commercial -- glory be! Now we can live inside commercials.
BEN: I thought I already was.
ENZO: You are. This is a commercial, Ben. And this IS a commercial, isn't it? Anyway, what a great platform for businesses to market and to get their consumers engaged. Probably not ready for small or medium sized businesses because it's super expensive, but companies like Nissan are cutting a new swath and paving the way for medium and smaller businesses. So…
BEN: Give it a year or two.
ENZO: Give it a week with the way things are going. Next I want to talk about Wonder Woman. What's going on? They're changing her outfit. I liked the old outfit. What about you, Ben?
BEN: Love Linda Carter.
ENZO: That's really old. But the thing here is that you can monitor what's going on -- what people are saying about your brand by just checking out blogs or doing a Google alert. Do a Google alert and you can hear what the chatter is about. Check out this site for example. Somebody on this comic blog asked the question, and look at all the responses they got -- a ton of them. So you can monitor and see what people are saying and what they think
about your brand or the changes you're making in your company. So keep that in mind. It's a very, very easy way to go in and check it. Before you used to have to hire a strategic planner and do focus groups and that sort of thing. Now you can just go online and check it out. Very powerful tool. In the same vein: comic books, heroes, and things like that, Taco Bell is doing this thing -- this is pretty interesting -- My favorite character in this is Commander Seasoned Beef. (He shows Super Delicious Ingredient Force: Episode 1 from Taco Bell.) This stuff is fun. They're also doing a really, really good job of integrating Facebook. So check this out. Not only can you follow this little campaign, but you can follow the individual characters on Facebook. Very interesting. It's a multi-level kind of marketing effort to get you engaged, and it's very entertaining. Good job Taco Bell. That's all I have for you today, Ben. The World Cup is going to be ending soon.
BEN: It's exciting.
ENZO: It's a very exciting time in the Internets. This is Enzo F Cesario, see you next time.
